Understanding consumers pays premium price for Australian prawns
A recent survey reveals that country or origin and price are the two most importance drivers of prawn sales in Australia, with some market segments willing to pay a premium for local prawns. More…..
International Tuna Symposium
SARDI recently hosted the Second Global Centre of Excellence Symposium of Kinki University “Sustainable Aquaculture of the Bluefin and Yellowfin Tuna – Closing the Life Cycle for Commercial Production”.
The symposium brought together international scientists and industry collaborators to share their experiences and discuss future priorities with respect to closing the life cycle of tuna.
Pod casts of selected presentations will be available on the MISA website in January 2010.
Welcome Raymond Cultura
Raymond (SARDI) has recently been appointed as the Extruded Process Technician at the Australasian Experimental Stockfeed Extrusion Centre (AESEC).
Raymond has extensive experience in feed preparation and operating feed plants and his knowledge will significantly enhance a range of current nutrition projects. More….
Congratulations Corey Bradshaw and David Stone
Corey Bradshaw (University of Adelaide and SARDI) has recently been awarded a Professorship with the University of Adelaide. In awarding this honour the University noted Corey’s outstanding research record, with a citation rate in the top 10% of his discipline world wide, as well as some of his other achievements; awarded a Tall Poppy Science Award in 2008; and a Royal Society of SA HG Andrewartha Medal. David Stone (SARDI) has recently been awarded an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at Flinders University, School of Biological Sciences, Faculty of Science and Engineering. David’s experience in related fields and enthusiasm for teaching will be an asset. Congratulations David.
