Seafood Industry News – out now
The Seafood CRC and MISA have recently commenced a new project delivering relevant research information to members of the CRC Oyster Consortium as a short, news style video (1-2 mins in duration) sent as a web link to mobile phones. View video and research fact sheets.
Keeping fish fresh
Researchers are rapidly cooling fish, reducing spoilage, improving product quality and extending shelf life to potentially increase profits for one of Australia’s largest fisheries. More….

Fresh Science funds media training for early-career scientists. 16 early-career scientists will take part in the ‘communication boot camp’, providing the opportunity to present their work to the media, schools and the public. More….

The Prime Minster’s Prizes for Science – 2010: Nominations are now open
The Australian Government awards five annual prizes for outstanding achievements and excellence in science and teaching. These awards are the most prestigious and significant of their kind in Australia. Each award comprises an embossed medallion, with matching lapel pin in jarrah presentation case, and cash prizes totalling $A500,000. More….
Seafood CRC Diploma in Entrepreneurship – Module 1
Module 1 of the Seafood CRC Professional Diploma in Entrepreneurship ‘Creative thinking and entrepreneurship’ kicks off in Brisbane, 26-28 March 2010. If you have an existing seafood or fishing business and want to get some business tips, have an idea for a new product or process, or just want to learn some business skills in a seafood context, then consider attending this free workshop.
