Identifying important oceanographic events is a unique ability of tagged seals swimming through ecologically significant habitats off South Australia.
Transmitted data, collected over 3.5 months, has provided valuable temperature depth profiles, identifying an upwelling off the coast of Kangaroo Island in early March.
