MISA contributes capability funding to the following projects:

Adelaide Desalination Plant - phytoplankton characterisation study.  Key MISA contact: Dr Jason Tanner (SARDI).

Caulerpa taxifolia 2010 - 2011 survey of current distribution and high risk areas, and summary of distribution patterns 2003-2010.  Key MISA contact: Dr Marty Deveney (SARDI).

Molecular tools for detection of marine pests - Development of putative diagnostic PCR assays for the detection of significant marine pests: Asterias amurensis, Carcinus maenas, Undaria pinnatifida and Ciona intestinalis.  Key MISA contact: Dr Nathan Bott (SARDI).

Molecular tools for detection of marine pests: Refinement of Musculista senhousia specific real-time PCR assay, further investigations into the specificity of the Corbula gibba real-time PCR assay and preliminary development of a specific real-time PCR assay for the detection of Perna canaliculus.  Key MISA contact: Dr Nathan Bott (SARDI).
